Hotel Price Alert After Booking: How Hotel Tracker Works

Hotel Tracker watches the price of a hotel booking you have already made. You add your hotel, dates, and booked price; we check current rates twice a day and email you when the price drops. You then decide whether cancelling and rebooking under your rate’s conditions makes sense.

What you need before you start

  • A hotel booking with free cancellation — rebooking only works if you can cancel the original booking without a fee.
  • The total price you booked, including taxes and fees, so alerts compare like with like.
  • Your stay dates and room type, so the tracker watches the right rate.

How it works, step by step

  1. Create a free account. Registration takes a minute; the free plan includes your first tracker. See Pricing for plan limits.
  2. Add your booking as a tracker. Enter the hotel, your dates, and the price you paid. You can set a fixed target price, or ask us to watch for a percentage below your booked price — whichever fits how you decide.
  3. We check current rates twice a day. No forwarding of confirmation emails is needed; the tracker runs on the details you entered.
  4. You get an email when the price drops below your target. The alert shows the current rate and a booking link so you can review the offer.
  5. You check the conditions and decide. Before cancelling anything, confirm the new rate covers the same room and dates and that your original booking is still free to cancel. Our guide Cancel and rebook: when a lower price really saves money walks through this decision.

Price watching is not automatic rebooking

Hotel Tracker monitors prices and notifies you. It does not cancel your booking, rebook for you, or guarantee that prices will fall. Whether a price drop is worth acting on depends on your rate’s cancellation terms — that decision stays with you, and we try to make it an informed one.

What Hotel Tracker does not do

  • No automatic cancellation or rebooking on your behalf.
  • No promise of savings — hotel prices can rise as well as fall.
  • No handling of your booking account or payment details at the booking site.

Transparency note: booking links in alert emails and on this site can be affiliate links (via Stay22). They do not change the price you pay; they may earn us a small commission that helps run the service.
